Hello all,

I have been reading the posts around here for awhile now and have b/u 2 DVD's with no problems so far. I am in the process of backing up my copy of "Walk the Line" and it goes from copying at 3.5x to 0 at 49% completion each time. By the way I am using DVD decrypter and Shrink, this problem happens with decrypter.

I read a few threads and tried using DVD fab and although I cannot see a % of completion it seems to be stopping at the same spot with that program.

I have wiped the disc off (it has a few light scratches), I am in DMA mdoe. What could the problem be? Is the Copy protection too good? let me know thanks.

Try using the latest version of DVDFab Decrypter, works like DVD Decrypter, rip it to your HD and then use DVD Shrink to do the rest. This is how I backed my copy up. For future use pick up these programs; AnyDVD and VOBBlanker. The latest updated versions of these programs help do away with annoying encryptions and bogus sections on a DVD. Good Luck!

I tried AnyDVD and it did the same thing.

I am not sure what version of DVDFab I have because I don't see a version anywhere. However, I d/l'ed it yesterday and it checks for newer versions automatically (at least I checked that box).

Could it be a bad DVD then? or what? I backed up my copies of "Get Rich or Die Trying" "Little Nemo" and "Robots"

Thanks

You have the latest version of AnyDVD? Could be a bad press. You might want to exchange it for another. =(

It must be, I just tried again and it completely stopped about half way through. I was watching my DVD-R light and my computer status light and they were blinking the whole time when it was ripping and then I glanced at them and checked the status and it was in the same place it had been for the past 15 min or so. It must be a bad dvd then.

If you're using AnyDVD on this one and it stops, it is definately a bad disc. Did you try AnyDVD's ripper to get it to the HD?
