Hello - I apologize for having another question, but I want to make sure I dont screw anything up since this is a pretty expensive system.

SO: In the sticky that I've been following it says the following
"- Copy overflow.tif in your PSP/PHOTO/ folder of your memory stick
(make sure you have changed your background to frame_buffer.png as explained in the toc2rta exploit.) " I looked up the toc2rta exploit with the search but nothing came up, also googled it and still didnt see what this was about. I also didnt read about changing your background to frame_buffer.png anywhere else, but I'd appreciate it if someone could clear this up for me. Thanks a whole lot I appreciate any help.

bull shit there is no renaming anything..
put overflow in the photo folder, and make sure you see the black screen with the white letters when you go to look at it on your psp before continuing with the rest of the steps.

Ok but in the official guide on afterdawn listed here:
http://www.afterdawn.com/guides/archive/downgrade_psp_2.cfm
They mention setting your background to frame_buffer.png

So I dont need to do this to downgrade?

whatever your response is, thank you in advance ( i can only post ever 3 minutes since i'm a newbie)

Dude, just listen to me, I upgrade and downgrade psp's all the time ok, follow this guide and you will be fine.
You'll be ok. i wouldnt tell you to do anything that would fuck up your psp.
got it, good.
now follow this

you need to upgrade to 2.0 then downgrade to 1.5

to upgarade to 2.0 http://www.psp-hacks.com/file/5
put that in your psp/game/update folder if there isnt one you create it. Run the update, make sure your psp is plugged into the charger. Do not remove the charger at anytime, Do not remove the battery, Don't do anything but press X

To downgrade from 2.0 here is what you do.
You are going to need this file
http://www.psp-hacks.com/file/3
and this file
http://www.psp-hacks.com/file/4
1. Take the h.dat and the index file and put them in your root folder(next to psp and umdemulator)
2. Take overflow.tiff and put it in your PSP/Photo Menu.
3. Make a new folder in your PSP/GAME CALLED UPDATE. Put the 1.5 upgrade in there.
4. Go to your photo menu, and press down. You should see a black screen with white letters. If not turn your psp off and try again. do not downgrade til you see the black screen with the white letters, this is a very important step
5.After you see the black screen with the white letters wait 30 seconds turn you psp off and turn it on again, Go to the game menu through your PSP and click the 1.5 update. make sure your psp is plugged into the charger. Do not remove the charger at anytime, Do not remove the battery, Don't do anything but press X to start the downgrade
Your psp is going to get to 99% and say that the update failed. This is perfectly normal. Wait 30 seconds after this happened and turn your psp off.
6. Turn your psp back on its going to say an error happened. This is normal as well. Just rebuild your psp like it instructs you to do.
7. You now have a 1.5 psp

You didn't get a screen prompting you to rebuild?
That's abnormal but its happened. A psp i did last week didn't ask me to rebuild. I was like wtf.

Okay I got NesterJ working on my PSP but how about actual PSP games? I have some ISOs but the link you gave me only talked about how to do NES games and i'm not familiar with the names of homebrew iso readers

you asked for nes games lol... and we arent allowed to post direct sites to isos, however you should get utorrent from http://www.utorrent.com and use torrent search sites to download your isos

I already have ISOs on my computer, but I do not know how to run them through my PSP. What emulator would I use for this?

Maybe I just have my terminology wrong, but I now have 1.50 and PSP ISOs on my computer...so then how do I run them? I'm familiar with running SNES emulators and NES emulators now.
Thanks

Ok listen, my guide, yes it did say that, but that was the full guide I posted in the FAQ, when a few months after the release of that downgrader, the toc thing with the change the background was confirmed that it didn't have to be there to make the downgrader work.
