ok short story i got sick of borrowing my roomates puter. So i bought a laptop and well he had dvd shrink on it so it was easy to "backup" movies! anyways i have tried to download dvd shrink 3.2 and that was or seemed pretty simple, but as i went to try it out it didn't work...iy would analys the disk and when i clicked on backup it would pause for a moment and then this thing popped up ... " dvd shrink encountered an error and cannot continue. Copy protection error The request could noy be performed b/c of an I/O device error." it has done this over and over, even on discs i have copied for other people b4. can anyone help me(offer any advice) sorry for the long post o ended up venting just a bit)

You came to the right place for all your answers but it is much easier for people to help you if you tell us what movie you were trying to do. There are many new copy protections that shrink alone cannot copy.

Fab decryper is a free ez ripper that works well with shrink.

KRRSNRG,
JOHNSTARR gave you good advice. You need to rip teh DVD to HD first w/ DVDFAB Decrypter and then use Shrink or use AnyDVD along w/ Shrink. Shrink has not been updated in 2 years so you have to give it help. To rip already decrypted movies on a disk just use DVDDecrypter in .iso read mode and then Mode> iso> write to burn to DVD

Thanks for the help i 'll give that a try some of the movies i tried were "Blade", "Longest Yard - adam sandler", "About a Boy", and "Dadddy Dare" Just to see if I still had bad luck. I will try one of those programs for sure. It jsut seemed odd that i could get it work on my roomates computer and not on mine.
