ive got an 80 GB Hd and i cant get the ps2 to recognize it its installed as a master on the network adapter and the DNAS data never authenticates... i cant get the adapter or the HD to work.

Are you sure the HDD is set to master correctly on the jumpers??
Which HDD software are you using?

it is set to master I used WinHIIP to format the drive as a ps2 drive and i put some stuff on it and i dont know how to access it now. i cant get at it in the ps2 yet. thx for the help im just starting the ps2 mod stuff

it'll never recognize it unless your using a hard drive loader of some sort (with the exception of the Official Sony drive) you really need to do more homework before you just jump into something you know nothing about.

i noticed i did my xbox soft and i figured out a ton of xbox stuff but i can see ps2 is quite dif. could someone point me to a spot to learn all of this step by step. and what i need to buy. etc... im tryin not to spend a dime more but all i have is the hd the ps2 and the net adapter.

you need a loader program, HD Advance 3.0 is the current best one to use off disk on unmodded consoles.

you can download it and burn it to a MC Exploit but you need some sort of Mod to get it onto the Memory card...

it doesn't have to be a MC exploit, you can burn a CD/DVD ISO image of it and use it like any other backed up disk. you DO need a mod that allows you to boot a backup and it seams you are failing to see that.
