Hello folks,

I have Pioneer DVD 8X -RW, when I try to burn any DVD using Nero 7, suddenly after starting burning procedure it shows Power Collabration Error.

Can anyone help me out in solving this problem?

Thank you in advance,

Does this happen with any other burning software? For some reason Nero is reading the power level to be wrong, whether poor connections, hardware, or an error in the software itself. Some of this you can check, some recommended for a technician unless you have some background in computer repair.

Another reason for a power calibration error is media and/or the firmware of your burner is not up to date.
Post your last Nero log to try and help sort this out.
They can be found at: program files>Nero>Nero7>Core>nerohistory.txt.
Just be sure to edit out your serial # which usually begin w/ 1A, 1C 5C. The logs are separated by something like this:
=====*** Nero Burning Rom History ***=====.

LOL I do believe firmware can be linked to the hardware I mentioned. Using good media is a no brainer, but novices need to be reminded on occasion I guess.

Besides posting the log, you can be checking on your burner drive's firmware. Check with the manufacturer for your specific model. Lots of companies have firmware downloads online in their support sections. Your Nero log has your drive info with model and firmware for some of our members to gleen through. There's also error messages and the like. Nero keeps a good record of what it does. By the way, if you need a firmware upgrade, do it and then try burning again before posting the latest log. Be sure to use decent media from a known brand and manufacturer. Sony 8X +R is a safe bet from the retail stores, it's good whether Taiwan or Japan manufactured. Most brands MIJ are good. Verbatim, Ricoh and Tiayo Yuden are good, though the generic brands of the last two are hard to find in stores. They make media for some of the top brands though.

Yep firmware can be linked to the hardware part but like media it's sometimes best to remind members imho :)
