compared it to winipcfg as i'm using win98se & a router. ip address in the link doesn't match mine.

it matches me router ip and its almost dead on to my location,30 miles off..
ddp why don't ye use 2000 it has the look and feel of 98se..
in fact i use 2000 as my main system,and its still supported,with all updates.................
also 2000 supports more ram then the 512 that 98 supports..

because i can do stuff on dos side you can't with winme or above unless use win98 straight boot disk

i have dos on windows 2000.in fact i can select it on win start up.in 2000..
i use all three systems through a abc switch..98,2000 and xp as they have there own hd.

@ work it was over 800 miles off. Thought I was in Connecticut.

It was only off by 10 miles when I tried it. So that was pretty much dead on.
There's always the option of using a proxy server.

Mine has me 2 blocks away from my other house .. used to have DSL there .. now I have broadband with a different co. across town ... go figure

ddp i found this for ye,in case ye want to move up from win-98se
DOS BOX..........DOSBox emulates an Intel x86 PC, complete with sound, graphics, mouse, modem, etc., necessary for running many old DOS games that simply cannot be run on modern PCs and operating systems, such as Microsoft Windows 2000, Windows XP, Linux and FreeBSD. However, it is not restricted to running only games. In theory, any DOS application should run in DOSBox, but the emphasis has been on getting DOS games to run smoothly, which means that communication, networking and printer support are still in early developement .....(free).....GO THERE!
