I've backed up a lot of movies and rarely get stumped, but this one has me. It's got something that makes it uncompressable or something. When I open it with Shrink, it shows the red bar from 4400 to 6149 and it shows 77% compression. I tried turning off DVD For Free and then used DVDFab Decrypter 2.9.6.8 and VobBlanker, but Shrink still encounters an error as soon as it tries to open the files.

I've done a search and can't find anything about Season 5 yet, but got the above solution based on many other current threads. Has anyone had any luck backing this up?

Has this been ripped to the Harddrive or are you trying to re-encode straight from the original? Have you tried AnyDVD 5.9.5.3? This will fix any kind of protection extras thown in such as "bad sectors" or false vob's. The company who supplies the discs use this as an extra measure to their protection encryption.

I used DVDFab to rip it to the harddrive, then VobBlanker and then I tried to compress it with Shrink.

I do not have nor have I tried AnyDVD.

Give it a whirl as a test drive. I would almost guarantee you'll be satisfied.

I guess I cried Wolf a little early, I got it thanks to Alkohol's guide (which is what I described trying above). I re-booted this morning and started over and now it seems to be working.

DVDFab, then VobBlanker, currently running Shrink and I will try to burn with Decrypter when I get home (I have to go to work now). I follow-up tonight with the final results.

I could and will say this over and over and over again....

Get AnyDVD & CloneDVD...
I have yet to have a problem with any movie using those.

I will guarantee you will be completely satisfied and its far and away the best $$ you will spend ever.

I just wanted to confirm that DVDFab Decrypter, VobBlanker, Shrink and Decrypter did the trick.
