Viper GC Extreme installation issues.

I actually got the nerve to solder the chip this time, and finally I got it working, sort of.

You see, with both dip switches on, I turn it on and it says VIPER GC EXTREME Press A to play backup press B to program Chip. Trouble is, the first person control doesnt want to work, and the yellow light is turned on inside the console.

The 2nd controller port works whenever I try and play a normal game or turn the system on without the dip switches on. I was very careful with all my soldering. Anyone else have this problem?

I put flux paste all over the finished areas that I was done soldering with, also, which might be a problem? I dunno.

I think I might rip the chip out, and then reinstall on a diff gc once I sell this one. It still plays normal games, and it didnt have a controller problem at first. I can probably pawn it and buy another one.

Once Viper Extreme is installed. With GC off, ONLY turn Dip Switch 2 to the ON position. Connected USB cable from ViperExtreme programming board to USB on PC. I downloaded the Viper Extreme USB version to flash BIOS. I turned GC ON, open ViperExtreme USB programming program. Selected the WRITE button, and then selected my BIOS. Afterwards, you see that is writing and I believe it only took about a minute to Flash. After status says FINISHED, I turned off the GC, removed the USB cable and set the dip switch No. 2 to OFF. DONE.

I turned on the GC, saw Vipre menu...and was able to read burnt DVDs. There were a few GC I had to adjust laser to around 200ohms for it to read burnt DVDs.
