I have recently encountered what I believe is the new Sony ARRCOS protection but the last time I came accross it, DVDD just failed to rip the movie.
This time with Narnia and Flight Plan DVDD ripped the movie o.k (or so it seemed)but Shrink found a problem with one or more of the VOB files. That really confused me.
I've now ripped them both with DVD FAB Decrypter and shrink has no problem anymore and both burnt successfully with DVDD.
I have loved DVDD but it seems I will be using it just for PS2 games in the near future. (The other work arounds (credits to Alkohol) with PGCedit and PSL pluggins etc just seems so much hassle compared to what works above) I just hope it continues to work LOL.

DVDFab decrypter is a fantastic ripper and updated for the newer encryptions fairly regularly.

You might want to consider AnyDVD encryption breaking software as well. With this program DVDD works like a charm, and so does DVDShrink.

Great program and certainly worth the money.

I'm was still a DVD Decrypter older version before "Fab" until yesterday.

John123 informed the newer versions of AnyDVD has it's own ripper built in. I used it last night. I don't know if it's because it's a streamline design or what, but I was able to rip MI2, Tornado, and Harry Potter Goblet of Fire all in less than 12 minutes. Each one took less than 12 minutes that is. A no-nonsense little interface and that's it.
