Hi,

I just bought one of those CDs that you put some kind of compound on a brush on the cd and it cleans your laser off. Is this a bad idea to put in my PS2? Thanks!

I wouldn't recommend it! A lot of people have had problems using these cd's on their PS2. Your best bet is to get a Q-tip and some rubbing alcohol (isopropyl) and clean the laser with that.

Best bet is to do it by hand, BUT if you open your case to do that on a model that is still under warranty for some reason, say Bye-Bye to that warranty. The slimline you can get at it without going through all that.
They do actually make DVD cleaners that are specifically made for the Xbox, so they should also work on the PS2.
I have used them on my PC burner because they do such a good job on it, but not yet on mt PS2 because i have never needed to.
