what are the best one click, one software apps for backing up DVDs? I've been using DVD X copy, but know I am looking for something just as easy, but better.

I like DVDshrink. It's FREE but I dont think that it will split disks or anything like that. But it will make any DVD fit on a 4.7 gig disk. I like it alot.. check it out.

I have used DVD Xcopy and then found DVD Shrink to be better and more reliable but a bit more complicated to use. Today I tried DVD XCopy Xpress, and it beats them both for speed and simplicity.

I think Copy Xpress gives the best result for movie only on one disc but DVDShrink is great too for putting the lot onto one. I've just done the entire disc of 'American Psycho' onto one DVD-R with Shrink and it actually looks fine after compressing from 6.2Gb. One little tip - don't forget to set your programme to be compatible with your Operating System. Click on 'Properties' for the programme and then 'compatibility' and change if necessary. I think it makes a difference.

MikeBuk, what version of American Psycho did you rip? I backed up American psycho: unrated, and it was only 4.10GB, and fit on to one disk perfectly.

Is the quality of the dvd good if I burn it to one dvd? I'm using DVD X Copy and I just burned Fast and the Furious onto two dvd's, but I'm looking for something else because it sucks having to switch the disks right in the middle of the movie.

If you don't like two disk movies. Go out and get dvdxcopy xpress, you won't be dissapointed. If you bought dvdxcopy over the internet you should be able to download a licensed copy for free.

Thanks for the sugestion ozy. I was so trying to figure this whole thing out with tryiong to use DVD decrypter and dvd2one and recordnow max, but I can see that its impossible for anyone to explain it using these tools in a way many of us uninformed can understand. I guess its xpress for me. I hope its as easy as they say it is. After all, I only want the movie. Who needs to hear what the director or some actor has to say about the movie. Isnt the movie good enough on its own without having to hear people blab on and on how they made it?
