Benq DW1625 Problem

I just installed a Benq 1625. It burns DVDs great both single and dual layers with no problem. BUT... it wont burn or even recognize a regular cd-r, not even the one that came with the burner. I use nero to burn with. NeroTool said the burner should recognize the cd-r media. However, its not happening. I have been burning cds and dvds for several yrs and just got this new Benq burner. Any suggestion would be great on how to get it to recognize cd-rs. I know that Saugmon said the Benq were the best out there. :)

Yeh BenQ's and Plextor's are great for booktyping (plus format) however they arent too hot for minus format.
