but in short terms... you dont need mod chips ! you can softmod it ( software hacks) and its even xbox live playable !!! no bans ever!...

im one of the best modders on that site .... i have a blue halo 2 crystal clear xbox ( ms ! not 3rd party ) and i have a 200gb maxtor and i play xbox live always! on it... 200gb maxtor hd ! softmods...

no chips ever! .. but what a softmod needs? a 1 of 3 games and a way of transfering files between pc and xbox... auction replay ....

the ar kit cost $30 and the game 5-30 ... trust me this s**t is the bomb!!!!! i made over 75 xbox softmods... and each 1 upgrade hd ! no mod chips!!!!!!! and all are xbox live friendly and no ban !!!!

For the last time, THERE IS NO WAY TO ENSURE YOU WILL NOT BE BANNED!!!! Microsoft will catch you eventually. Remember, there are millions of people on Live. Someone will either turn you in or they will detect the modded system. No if ands or buts about it!

With the modchip, you can just turn it off. And with the softmods, you can just coldboot. Those are pretty failsafe, there is nothing to detect. Also, you CAN mod halo 2 without being caught (atleast by microsoft, other users may tip them off or whatever). You just have to mess around with the cache files and you'll be fine. Can't really do much with only the cache files though, basically just bitmaps and whatever else isn't loaded every time you start up halo. I've personally used this method for a while. Unless I am just lucky or something. The other thread I posted was asking if there was anyway to blatenly mod on live, just to clear any confusion. The softmodding technique that I used (I've also used a chip), was Ndure installer. Very easy, just look for the turorial in the tutorials section of xbox-scene.com. They are very helpfull there.

with this new softmod you dont get ban because all files are RETAIL meaning microsoft wont detect a file that is modifed ....

this is called dual boot=retail on sid 4.5 what it does? open tray and it patches everything back to normal then this is safe for xbox live .....

power it on normaly and you got modded dash ....

and DanandJen do you question me when i have this softmod over 1 yr and i have NOT gotten ban using a 200gb maxtor hd ....????

and since this new mod came out coldbooting is not necerarry any more ..... and this was caught....

but guys answer me this : if all files are real like ms did it then why would they detect something is modifed? all files are real that is why is called RETAIL..... and i assure you if not i grant you a new eeprom that your xbox will NEVER get ban .... www.xbox-hq.com xbox scene is too much flaming so i really recommend checking out xbox-hq .com

so nickk to answer your question. you need 1 of 3 exploitable games and a auction replay kit .... kit is $30 and game can be from $5-15
and if you want more info then go to www.xbox-hq.com and ask them there...

this is a great site since theirs no flaming and a bunch of good stuff

Try FTP or using action replay.....go to http://my.afterdawn.com/thereturn/ he has a hell load of tuts in his Links section....even a tutorial on FTP and Softmodding and if anything goes wrong he has stuff for that too.
