PAL Gamecube(ViperChip) on a NTSC TV?

Hi!
I'm going to take my PAL gamecube with a Viper Chip to a friend of mine.
My friend only got NTSC TV's. Now to my question. Is it possible to play PAL ORIGINALLY games from a PAL gamecube on a NTSC TV?

If it isn't.
Then, can I download a NTSC backup game, and play it on my PAL gamecube, on a NTSC TV?
I've got a Viper Chip and Cobra BIOS 1.6.
