I'm sorry, I've already posted this in PS2 DVD backup discussion, But i think this thread should be in this forum - HD loader questions... Need help alot!
Hi, i recently downloaded a version of HD loader called HD free loader. I tried searching the net for this version and i cant find it. I havent yet got a HD or a PS2 network adapter so I'm researching at the moment. The only faqs i've found is Casey miller's http://homepage.ntlworld.com/casey.miller/HD%20Loader/FAQ%20HD%20... and the one at http://hdloader.com.au These sites have good faqs , but theres a few questions they haven't really answered:
1.) To install a new game from the PS2 drive to the hard drive do you need a swap magic slide tool? Or do you simply eject the PS2 when told and insert your PS2 game?
2.) Does the network adapter have to be connected to my PC for the HD to be detected?
3.) I have a mod chip, a MX4 v1.1, every game i've copied to a DVD disk, ones that arent original will I be able to rip them to my drive?
Thats all my questions I have, I will really appreciate anyone helping me. I will keep you updated on any questions I have.

K to install a game all you need to do is load up hdloader select install and eject the tray, only people loading backups with no mod need a slidecard. As you have a MX4 you should easily be able to load backups to your HDD as if they were originals.
No PC needs to be connected at all as long as you have the HDD firmly connected to the network adaptor it shouls be detected fine.

Thaks alot for the help, I posted this in 2 forums, Mike10 says the Network adapter has to be connected to the pc for HD loader to detect the HD. Is this true?, I didnt think it was.
