When I use DVD Shrink the program shows multiple audio channels such as AC3 5.1-ch English, AC3 2-ch Englihs, and DTS channels. I would appreciate it if someone would explain in detail what these channels are and which ones I should check. I have a 5.1 stereo system.

When backing up a DVD is there a way to selectively avoid copying previews, FBI warnings, etc?

Each one contains the audio but each is different as you can see. I remove the DTS tracks and I keep 5.1 myself. If there is a 2-channel track it goes out too. Sounds like you should do the same.
As far as previews go, you can tell Shrink to replace them with a still image very easily. I personally prefer vobblanker as it will reduce this type of filler far better than Shrink will.

What audio channels to remove? It depends on your language. If English is your thing, retain English and dump the rest. If French is your thing, keep that and dump everything else.

2-ch vs. 5-ch: Forget about the 2-ch. 2-ch sucks. Plus, if you keep the 5.1, it'll still work on a 2-ch speaker system. It's better to have the 5.1 and not use it, than need it and not have it (think condoms).

There may be multiple 2-ch entries. One of these is most likely a commentary. If you wanna keep it, keep it, if not, uncheck it. You can make sure which is which by previewing the video in the bottom left. Right click anywhere in that preview screen, and you'll see the available list of audio that corresponds to the list in the upper right.

I don't see any 5.1 ch English. I see 6 Ch, 2 Ch, and 1Ch. Do I just need to select 6 Ch? What about subtitles? I sometimes see more than one English stream.
