how do you down grade? i just want to be able to use the fastloader. help anyone

What firmware does your PSP have, check the FAQ's/Stickys at the top.

so confusing installin fastloader v0.7 and whats with the corrupted data. did i do something wrong?

You did it right, its just the currupt data means that the psp can't identify what it is and states it as currupt data, don't mind that cause thats normal, everyone has it.

You need to have Firmware Version 1.50
If you have any higher then fastloader WILL NOT WORK
Find your firmare version by gonig to system information on your psp :)

To downgrade from 2.0 here is what you do.
You are going to need this file

1. Take the h.dat and the index file and put them in your root folder(next to psp and umdemulator)
2. Take overflow.tiff and put it in your PSP/Photo Menu.
3. Make a new folder in your PSP/GAME CALLED UPDATE. Put the 1.5 upgrade in there.
4. Go to your photo menu, and press down. You should see a black screen with white letters. If not turn your psp off and try again. do not downgrade til you see the black screen with the white letters, this is a very important step
5.After you see the black screen with the white letters wait 30 seconds turn you psp off and turn it on again, Go to the game menu through your PSP and click the 1.5 update. make sure your psp is plugged into the charger. Do not remove the charger at anytime, Do not remove the battery, Don't do anything but press X to start the downgrade
Your psp is going to get to 99% and say that the update failed. This is perfectly normal. Wait 30 seconds after this happened and turn your psp off.
6. Turn your psp back on its going to say an error happened. This is normal as well. Just rebuild your psp like it instructs you to do.
7. You now have a 1.5 psp

yeah the part where im suppose to see the black screen with letters, i dont see any it just shuts off my psp
yeah i got my psp from japan would that have to do with anything?

wait bnx,
before you do this downgrade, what psp version do you have? it will only work with 2.0, no other psp version above that is downgradable.
i dont want you to say im the reason your psp is messed up.
go to System>System Settings> System Information, what does it say your psp is?
if it says 2.0 come back for help, if it says 2.01, 2.50, or 2.6 dont try to downgrade

Nah mines from jap too, make sure you put the index.dat and h.bin on the root of the memory stick eg not in any folders str8 onto the stick so its one of the first thing you see when you click removable disc.

so after you put the overflow.tiff in your psp>photo folder and it came up as just a black screen?
no white letters?
weird, turn psp off and try again

sumtimes i get no white letters but it works, to check go to
SETTINGS - SYSTEM SETTING - SYSTEM INFORMATION if it says 1.0 your good to go.
If not then i am pretty certain that you dont have the files in the right places.

when piece said your good to go in the last post, he meant, then you can go ahead and go to memory stick and boot up yout 1.5 update and downgrade your psp..
But only if your psp says 1.0 in system info
