Hey-
I'm new to burning DVDs so I use DVD shrink and DVD Decrypter to burn my backups and Decrypter gives me the notification that the burn is complete, but when I play my newly burned DVD in my player it becomes garbled and unplayable at the last hour and 40 minutes into the movie. I have tried to shrink the movie down to 4 GB, slow my burning speed to 4x, using AnyDVD and Dvd Clone but they do the same thing everytime! I am using 4.7 GB Memorex DVDs.

If someone could help me out I would really appreciate it!

Memorex is considered some of the worst media. Try a good media like Verbatim, Taiyo Yuden or Ritek. Also Fuji made in Japan only are TY also. I would start there. Also check out bbmayo's guides to make sure you are doing it the proper way. Link below:

Let's go over a few things before we curse the media, though memorex has gotten a lot of complaints. Nowadays how much of memorex's bad rep is fact and how much is rumor is hard to figure.

What DVD is being recorded and how large is the source? Have you tried another DVD to see if the same problem occurs with a different source. If you have the same problem with playability try backing up your Shrink output to the hard drive. Check to make sure the output you want to record is playing properly. Then burn it with Nero set to verify the burn. You can download the trial if you don't have Nero. Then try playing again once record and verify have completed, assuming the verification went okay. If you're still having playability problems, then buy some good media and try with it. You can always use the extra media later. If it's the solution, then you use the memorex for data storage.

Awesome! Thanks for the quick response. I'll try some good media and see what happens. I've tried 6 different movies and the same thing happens. I've also verified and gotten a "redundency" error when it runs through. Thanks

I bought some verbatium DVDs and it did the same thing, I also tried several other movies and got the same results. Thanks for the Nero link but it does the same thing. Is anyone else having this problem? Thanks for the help!
