I've got a Daytek DVR-P30. It works great but I've heard there's a patch or hack that can make it use a 3 hour record mode as well as the 1, 2, 4 and 6 hour mode already programed in. But I"ve also heard that there might be some questions about whether this patch might cause problems in other areas of the P30.......like maybe goofing up the Region-free work around or the other little sneeks in the "EXIT" menu.
From what I understand, the Daytek is a LiteOn rebadge ... The hacks at the links I provide have been used successfully to defeat macrovision and provide 3hr recording speed .. when I hacked one of my LiteOn recorders, I did NOT run into any region free related problems ..
You should get the latest HACK to unlock the macrovision.
You need to know how to check your serial number and set the region.
Hit the "setup up" move down to "exit" type 2960, and up pops the secret menu.
