Archos xs 200 will not connect to pc. Please help me??

I have a archos xs 200 which has recently started to malfunction. It has a 20 gig hdd and can be used for mass storage. Unfortunately, some of the (about 10 gigs worth) video files I had on there were lost somehow. It was as if the files were there but hidden as the disc was apparently full. I used scandisc but this did not rectify the problem. I then decided to format it. This seemed to work and I copied my music back onto it. Then I switched on the player but there was no music on it and it had created some randomly named folders. It will now not connect to my pc at all!!!!!

Could any one help me??
