Help! I have a Karaoke CD which plays only music and diplays the words. I want to copy it. A straight copy plays the music but displays no words.
Can anyone tell me which package to use to copy the cd?
Any help greatly appreciated.

Alcohol120%, CloneCD, BlindWrite suite. But you need a very good burner (capable to write P-W subchannel data).

Thanks aldaco12. I have no idea if my burner writes P-W subchannel data. How can I tell? It is a NEC DVD+RW ND-1100A
Thanks a million.

If on your user manual (on your product specification) the burner is said to be capable to burn RAW-DAO, a.k.a. DAO(96), then you are capable to do that.

If the burner is capable to write RAW SAO+SUB - a.k.a. DAO(16) - then you wtite only the P-Q subchannel data but not all P-W channels.

This means that you can copy CDs protected by SecuROM and Lybcrypt - which store protection info in P-Q subchannels, but not Karaoke (a.k.a. CD-G) Discs, since Karaoke text is stored in the R-W subchannels.

Ah, Padus DiskJuggler will work, too, if you have it. They also made a guide on their site:
http://www.padus.com/support/tutorials.php?name=cdg_backup

but in general I would say that Alcohol 120% is more friendly (just set Datatype=CD-G and you have done the job)

There are several good CDG burners on the market. In my opinion nothing out there beats the Plexwriter from plextor. I have burned hundred of CDGs which I create using karaoke software. I don't remember the last time I produced a coaster.
