I have a number of Mpeg-2 files I want to burn to DVD with DVD Shrink. I have used TMPGEnc DVD Author v1.6 to convert the files to VOB. It does the conversion OK but when I burn from DVD Shrink the picture is shakey.
Can someone suggest any other software to do the conversion??

I haven't tried ConvertXtoDVD for mpeg, but mpeg is listed as one of the supported file types. This program works pretty well and is simple to use. They have a free trial although it adds a watermark:

If you have Nero you could use Nero Vision for this as well.

Shrink does not actually burn. It calls a program to perform the burn....Like Nero.

Are you sure this is not a media issue? Sometimes poor media can cause problems like you describe.

I tried using Nero Vision but it was unable to compress the MPEG file enough to fit on the 4.7 DVD (thats why DVD Shrink) I have not had a problem with this media before but maybe will try a different brand

thnx for the info

If the derived files from the compilation are exceeding the 4,36 GB barrier and you insist to compress them to fit on a dvd-5 disc, the for sure the quality will be inferior of the prototype. I would suggest to compile first the files choosing as target disc a dvd-9 one. So you can preview the quality before you drop down even more.
As preffered tool I would also suggest ConvertXtoDVD.
Leave uncompressed the movie and then try another tool to carry out the new project. In that case you may use DVDRebuilder, which takes more actions from your self, or IFOEdit with ReMPEG2 if you have even more time to kill.

I get the same shakey result when I try to convert and burn a 2GB file so no need to compress. I will try the converters you mentioned and see if I can get a better result
