i spent US$10 for a 25-pack.
pics of my new 25-pack of Mitsubishi HIGH QUALITY blank dvd-r's:

ima newbie at this, but i can tell that the performance graph shows that my dvd-media is of high quality.

I'm sure that those discs will code as MCC03RG20 which, at least until the 16x Taiyo Yudens get here, is the best 16x media available here in the USofA ... I'm not sure where you are, but it looks like first class stuff ...

Only burning them at 4x? I'd burn them at 8x and I'll bet your burns get even better ...

Yeah, these are MCC 03RG20 discs. BTW, I live somewhere in the south east of Asia. Anyway, i took your advice of burning at 8x (i think this is the first time ive burnt a DVD-R at 8x). This is the performance:


i think this is worse.

i wouldn't worry too much about dvd scanning until your problem is sorted here - http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/1/328522#1927679 ie you need to get DMA sorted before worrying too much about scans....

how do i scan the disk?
