Just needing advice on whether if I use no compression on Shrink if I will get better quality or go ahead and compress it, but I hate to split the movies on two discs if below a certain compression rate.

Well, regardless of whether you use Shrink or not, if you compress, by definition, you're losing quality. Even if you use the almighty DVD-RB, you're still losing quality when you compress. That's the point of compressing: making something that shouldn't fit, fit.

I never split discs.

What's the compression rate you have that's making you question it? Anything above 65% with the quality controls and deep analysis will look fine.

Latest AnyDVD to rip > VOBB to blank the unwanted on a DVD > Shrink to compress > ImgBurn to burn = Never starting a thread asking how to backup a movie
