Need help downloading music to my psp

I connected my psp to my computer and selected usb connection in the psp settings. I opened the file psp and created a folder named music. I ripped a cd to my computer through windows media player. I open the folder that has my music saved in it and try to drag and drop my music to the music folder for the psp. It shows the music in the folder on my computer but my psp says that I have no tracks downloaded. It shows that the music I downloaded is taking up memory but it doesn't show it on the psp. And when I connect my psp to my computer, I can choose the option to open using the windows media player and I can play my music that i downloaded. Do the songs have to be in mp3 format?

It has to be in .MP3 format, make sure the folder is called "MUSIC" not "music" or "songs". And just drag and drop the songs in that folder (H:\PSP\MUSIC) and it should show up.

So my problem was that my music isn't in mp3 format. Thank you for the help.

Yes it was, you can convert the Song using different converters like the ImTOO Converter, or the Cooolsoft Power MP3 WMA Converter. Just google and you'll find

If ur running firmware 2.60 u can enable ur PSP to play WMA files.
