500ax, firmware 2.c. Pentium3,933,384ram,100 gig WD HD. I rip most DVD's at only 2x using DVD Decrypter. Is anyone ripping faster with this Sony 500 AX?

No, I wish. For what appears to be such a lovely burner, it dor=esn't half give a headache when ripping. If you get faster I'd really like to know. I suppose we'll have to wait for a firmware update.

Based on Shoey(moderator)info, I gave up trying to rip faster with the 500ax and ordered a Liteon LTD 166S. Cost$37 and Ebuyer. Will update when I get it up and running.
