Can't copy Pulp Fiction Collector's Edition

I am a fairly inexperienced user of DVD shrink and I have made some copies of my films to keep on hand without a problem. I recently have been trying to copy them all cause I have an extended library and when I loan them out they sometimes don't come back in perfect condition.

I own Pulp Fiction Collector's Edition and I ran it through the DVD Shrink process. I then test out the video files to make sure it works before I put it to DVD and on this one the movies have sharp sounds and the it skips along and doesn't run well at all. Does anyone out there have any suggestions?

It would be greatly appreciated.

What Burner are you using? Firmware up to date? What did you use to view the content? Lot of things here that it could be. You may want to add more info like what I mention. I like DVD Fab Decrypter to rip the movie to my hard drive and then use DVD Shrink to encode it as a ISO image. Then from there burn it using DVD Decrypter. This has worked flawlessly for me using DL discs. If you are just using single layer disc's than just use DVDFab to rip then DVD Shrink to encode and burn (via Nero). Hope this helps!

Are you using good quality media? That is the most common cause of bad quality backups. You can check out the ID code of the media by downloading DVD Identifier from the software section.

I am burning with DVD MovieFactory Deluxe ver. 3.5 I never have any problems with the burning part as much as the ripping part.

My process is to insert the DVD and open it in DVD Shrink. It analyzes the disc. Once finished I tell it to save the DVD as Video and Audio TS folders on the computer. Once it finishes ripping it I open up some of the Video_TS files with Ulead DVD Player. If the videos all run fine then i go ahead and burn it and i have always had a good copy. If the video's run choppy in the Ulead DVD Player then I know i've got a problem and it would be useless to put it to a disk.

I'm happy to try your method but I don't know where to get those programs. Are they freeware? Let me know. Thanks Lothar

Rafigold,

I'm not sure what you mean by checking the quality of the media I'm using but if you mean the blank DVD's that i'm putting it then that's not my problem here. I can't even get a good rip of this movie to put it to DVD. Is the program you're talking about for checking the quality of your blank DVD media before burning?

I was referring to the blank dvd's,

To get a good rip you can try using DVDFab Decrypter which is free and updated regularly. you can download it here:

www.dvdidle.com/free.htm

or you could download anydvd from http://www.slysoft.com and use their 21 day free trial. This runs in the background and removes protections from DVDs

I just downloaded the fab decrypter. I'll test that out and see if I can figure it out.

I downloaded DVDfab and installed it. I ripped right from the DVD to the hard drive wit it and it then I opened the Video_TS files with my ULEAD DVD Player and it is still incredibly choppy and the sound is choppy as well. Any other suggestions?

Make sure the surface of the dvd is clean and that there is nothing stuck to it that may be causing it to spin slightly unevenly. failing that it is possible that it is a bad press of dvd's. Would you be able to borrow a copy of it from someone else and see if you have the same problems with that?
