i have been using decrypter and shrink for just acouple weeks now and i noticed something. and i apologize if this is a stupid question. please bear with me. i noticed lately when i use shrink when it encodes that it does this process twice. can anyone help me with understandin why this is.

Here's a quick why:

This is normal if you've enabled shrink's quality settings. When shrink opens a disk or opens files ripped to your HDD, it will perform a quick analysis and then determine how much compression is to be applied in order for the movie to fit onto a single layer disk. If the compression level is at 100%, this means that shrink won't have to apply any compression to the video files and so will only go thru the encode/transcode process, if the compression level is lower than 100%, then shrink will first analyze the entire movie once that's complete it will start part 2, the encode/transcode process. This is done to ensure that the movie is copied having the best video quality possible.
