What's the difference between an ISO file and a Torrent file? I play ISO files from the fastloader program but I'm running into many sites that have Torrent file games. Help?

A torrent is the name given to the file and the methods used to get it. The actual file you download will contain the ISO.

Yeah i get to that, but then the file just never downloads, or has unbelievably slow speeds
I tried to get Wrestlemania 22 the other day, so i downloaded the torrent, opened it and waited, nothing happened, so i left my pc on for a few hours while i went out to see if it would download, came back few hours later and nothing had happened :/

It's supposed to contain the ISO file? How do I get to that file? It downloads hella quick--like a split second--torrent files are tiny. I dragged it into the ISO folder and nothing happens. Tried to unzip it and nothing happens...

well u know how it makes the files before its fully downloaded. Well where do you think it stores the gb's of data when its downloaded. The temporary internet files? or ram? I'm glad it saves it to the hard drive so I could resume when i want to or after my pc's been restarted.

danku76, I'll try to answer you question for you... pay attention...
A torrent file is not acutally the file you are looking for. It is simply a set of instructions for a torrent client program (such as azureus) to download the iso for you. So follow these steps:
1. Download and install Azureus. (you can find several tutorials all over the web for that)
2. Find and download the torrent file of the iso that you are looking for. Good sites that I use are http://isohunt.com or www.thepiratebay.org and www.torrentspy.com
3. Double click the torrent file wherever you saved it on your hard drive. This will open your torrent client program and begin downloading the iso to the hard drive.
Oh and BayaTEMP, you smokin the crack cocaine buddy? Torrents are the only way to go. I usually get up to 300k/s download rates depending on how many seeders there are. Just do a google search for tutorials on torrents and you'll find that that is the best way to go.

you guys are gonna confuse them more if you keep adding like newsgroups, irc ;) ><
just dl the torrent open with bitcomet/azerus(i like bitcomet)
dl the file for like 2-3 hrs depending on size(remember its free so be patient)
then extract the .rar .zip files and wala you got a iso file ready to play :)
p.s. on most those sites they explain how to use a torrent so read the faqs that will help a lot :D

yea torrents are awesome. Much better than P2P at most times. I usually use Torrents for larger stuff. The only downside is that they take a while usually. Always look for files with many Seeders!

just to clarify, azures and other torrent clients arent like limewire-the search isnt built in. you just download the torrent- clik open and the task starts. you can see its progress in the client and access it when you are done.
@ bombayboy you get an incomplete file in a folder that you cant access- it happens to everyone. as you progress you will see that some files will be completed and you can clik on them. once the file is 100% you can access all of the files.

Its someone who has finished their download and is uploading the file for other users, its good practise to upload what u download as it keeps the torrent alive as it where.

Seeds are when the person is done downloading the file so they "seed". This mean they are uploading the file to the server so it speeds up your download times. People always want other people to seed so they can finish their downloads. With no seeds, there is no source for the file. "Leeching" is the exact opposite. Leechers are the people that are downloading it. That makes it slower.
