Can someone point me to the link that shows if you dvd player is too old to play dvd-r disks. I have a sony that is a little over two years old. Thanks in advance.

I use DVD Decrypter, IFO Edit and Pinnacle Instant Copy.

Pinnacle Instant Copy will fit an entire DVD9 into a DVD5. But with IFO Edit its best to keep the entire movie within 5 Gigs because IC will compress it. This is were one's patience must kick in. But the advantage is that IC will format the DVD-R so any DVD player in the market will recognize it with no problem.

I was told that the DVD player must be made after 2000 because before that they couldn't recognize DVD-R's.

My DVD player is so old it still has a hand crank to start it up. (OK, 1998)

It's a really poor quality one and it plays most DVD-R's.

I have 2 DVD players Mitsubishi and APEX. Before I started using Pinnacle Instant Copy. I was using DVD Decrypter, IFO Edit and Nero to copy movies. My Mitsubshi could not read the DVD because I bought it in 1999 so I went and bought the APEX which had no problems reading it. However, other name brand DVD players couldn't read my formatted movies. Then I used Instant Copy over Nero. After making the copy I went to a DVD player retail store and flopped the DVD on all their name brand DVD players and VIOLA !!! they all recognized it and started playing. But Mitsubishi still could not recognize it, so there.

what options did u burn within nero.

I had similar problems with my LG player.

I burned using the UDF (only option), this cured the problem.

Then I purchased recordnowmax - 100% everytime
