MKV to AVI

In order to burn my MKV files, I am assuming that I need to convert them to .AVI files before I burn them with NeroVision Express. Does anyone know of a converting process of .MKV to .AVI?

.mkv is more os a file package (almost like a zip file). All you need is a matroska extractor:

also, you should get mkvtoolnix:

http://www.bunkus.org/videotools/mkvtoolnix/downloads.html

These files usually contain .AVI and .AAC or .mp3.
