Ok so I couldnt really find a great guide... I found the video but couldnt find a guide to take off faceplate. Since it says not to lose warranty I figured not to remove the case. So I got a butter knife and pried it off. a little peice of the faceplate broke but didnt think it mattered. So I turned it on and hit eject to insert the DVD swapdisc. The drive wont come out. It goes to the screen as if no dvd is in (my brother had KH2 in before I tried to open it). So I thought the things not in right. I tried to use the slide tool to put it back in place or to take it out but cant get it to work... I watched the video a lot of times and still isnt working for me.

I put the faceplate back on and it sticks out on the right side... so im guessing its not in the whole way so its not reading it.

Also when I was prying it off it pulled the tray out some and I Just pushed it back in... so I probably need to lock it in or something

thanks a lot for the help as this is so frustrating.

Well this is interesting. You kind of screwed yourself if you think about it. Before you take off the tray cover you needed to unscrew the screw under the bottom of it. The screw is so tiny only an eye glass repair kit would work or some screwdriver that small. Anyways, what I would do is turn on the ps2, take you slide card, insert it and push the tab all the way over to the left(the tray in state), and then try an press the open button. If no success, press the open button over and over until it comes out. Sometimes the tray is stubborn and you might have messed up the movement of the tab. Just keep on presseing the open button until it moves itself back on track. Also when you press the open button over and over you want to press it once, wait about 15 seconds, then again, wait 15 seconds, then again and so on and so forth. If these methods dont work, what you want to do is open up the ps2 and take off the black top covering the tray and adjust it(white tab all the way to the left, and the tray pushed all the way back),pu tthe black top back on and then put the case back together. Hope this helps, if not I have no idea why yours wont work, and my advice would be to email sony saying that your disc tray wont open, and mention nothing about how you wanted to play back ups seeing as how they might not like that.
