I only have one disk drive, and I would like to back up some of my home dvd's. I have been using DVDFab Decryptor to put the disk in my hardrive in IFO, VOB and BUP form. I have Windows Media Home Edition, but it doesn't seem to recognize these files. I have been using DVD Santa to make my DVD's, but it has no menu, and has some problems, so I tried using DVD Shrink. It worked great until I needed to burn it to disk, because I do not want to pay for Nero, and DVD Decryptor is very hard to find (if it is even still on the web). I made an ISO file on my harddrive from DVD Shrink, and tried to use Windows Media again to burn, but it won't read ISO files either. Is there any SIMPLE (and free) solution other than DVD Shrink to convert and burn. (or perhaps some software that will burn ISO files to a 4.7GB video dvd). I am new at this, so I know very little, and any help is greatly appreciated.

To burn your ISO files that you make with Shrink, you might want to try ImgBurn.

ImgBurn is an excellent free ISO burning program. DVD Decrypter can be found here:
http://www.dvdplusvideo.com/netlinks.html

You can replace DVD Decrypter files with ImgBurn files so that Shrink will call it automatically, like it does with Decrypter, Nero or CopyToDVD, when it is time to burn.

Here is a short guide if you are interested. You will need to install Decrypter first, then replace with ImgBurn:

A guide from jmet:
How to get ImgBurn to burn with DVD Shrink
For DVD Shrink to call ImgBurn up to burn, you must have DVD Decrypter installed. So if this is your first time using ImgBurn, you would also need to download and install DVD Decrypter.
Now we all know that you can automate DVD Decrypter to come up to burn after DVD Shrink gets finished encoding.

We are simply going to "fool" DVD Shrink into thinking "ImgBurn" is "DVD Decrypter".

First thing to do is go to your "C:\Program Files" directory. Now locate the "ImgBurn" folder.

After double clicking the "ImgBurn" folder, you should now see a file called "ImgBurn.exe". Right click on that file, and left click on "Copy".

After copying "ImgBurn.exe", click the "Back" button to go back to your "C:\Program Files" directory, now locate the "DVD Decrypter" folder and double click it.

After double clicking the "DVD Decrypter" folder, find the file "DVDDecrypter.exe" and right click on it. Then left click on "Rename".

Then type in the new name you want it to have. I typed "DVD Decrypter Real".

Now, right click in a open white space of the window, and then left click on "Paste" to paste the "ImgBurn.exe" file we copied.
Now right click the "ImgBurn.exe" file, and then left click on "Rename" and rename it "DVDDecrypter.exe".

Since we had to rename "DVDDecrypter.exe" to "DVD Decrypter Real.exe", we now need to update the shortcut icon on your desktop. So that when you double click the DVD Decrypter icon, ImgBurn doesn't come up.
Go to your desktop and find the DVD Decrypter shortcut. Right click on the icon then left click on "Properties". On the window that comes up, the first box is named "Target". You need to change the target to ""C:\Program Files\DVD Decrypter\"put here whatever you renamed DVD Decrypter as".exe" so that the actual DVD Decrypter program will start when you double click the DVD Decrypter icon. (I renamed DVDDecrypter.exe to DVD Decrypter Real.exe, so I put DVD Decrypter Real.exe at the end.)

Since we modified the file names, DVD Shrink will now load up ImgBurn instead of DVD Decrypter.
So in DVD Shrink, after you click the "Backup!" button, make sure you select "ISO Image File and burn with DVD Decrypter" as your backup target. (Even though it says "..burn with DVD Decrypter", its not. Its going to use ImgBurn.)
ImgBurn will use the last burn speed you selected by default. (or if it is the first time to use the program, "MAX" will be selected.)
My advice is to manually open up "ImgBurn" the first time and burn something at the speed you want to (preferably 2X or 4X). Then exit the program.
Then when it is called up by DVD Shrink from there on out, it will default to your last speed setting you used.
