i cant connect to xbox live. the cables are connected to the xbox but the xbox can find my ips or any of the "numbers" needed to establish the connection.

BTW my xbox is in the basement and has a wireless adapter to a Wireless-G broadband router upstairs. Any help on getting a connection?

im hoping i can get a response or two in by the end of the night so i can play online for a bit

set your settings on XBL to auto and make sure your router is also set to DHCP....

what kind of router do you have if you have a linksys type this in I E or FireFox what ever you you use
in the search bar type
192.168.1.1 which is the default setting it will prompt for a user name and password if you didnt change them they should both be admin if you did change them, then i hope you remember what you changed them too....

everything you guys have said i already have on. I still cant get connection. would the DMZ (not sure what it does) have anything to do with this?

more help is appreciated since its taking xbox.com forever to respond

try this on your xbox dashboard go to network,then go to settings, then click ip and set that to automatic if its not already.....set everything to automatic if that dont work then its probably your wireless connection has some kind of security on it that you need to take off....

start the troublshooter with your xbox unmodded
then go to settings
then ip
change it to automatic

p.s. sometimes when you unmod your xbox it changes your ip settings from automatic to manuel, i dont know why though
