Okay, so today I recieved a PS2 with minor problems.... it's a version 7 USA.

He say's it works fine... but first of all, the DVD drive doesn't open/close all the way. So I can't really test games. However, the PS2 turns on fine and it access the options fine, etc.

I was going to have to open this one up, to insert a modchip in. My question is, has anyone else have this problem? It makes a rough noice when I manually pull out the DVD Drive. Like I said, it won't go back in. Maybe there is a rubber band out of place, etc? I know it's fixable. Also is said he dropped it once, so.... :(

Also, that little drive piece with the original playstation logo is gone. Anyone know where I can find a replacement? It should be like 3 dollars. I'll check ebay first.

EDIT: YESS!!!! It is said if your drive doesn't go in correctly, it is a small white piece unaligned. I'm reading instructions on Neoseeker right now! :D

most likely the front peice is missing because he used a slidecard
to load back up games.
The drive should not be too hard to fix. If it moves at all it is not completely broken.

Well, trying to fix that ribbon cable, the reset/power cable came out.... waaaaah!!!

EDIT: I FOUND THE ISSUE!!!!!

EDIT 2: Yes! I fixed it! I didn't exactly melt that thing together yet. (I must, or the metal bar will keep sliping out) but so far, the system still reads games, good to know. I'll keep posting updates! :D

EDIT 3: Alright!! Yeah!! I didn't melt that piece, instead some hot glue fixed the issue. The DVD drive is now sturdy... It comes out a LITTLE slow though, but that is ALL lol... now for the modchip ordering on April 19. (B-day) lol
