Well the subject pretty much sums up what I'd like to know. I am running Windows XP and am wondering how can you tell how many times a certain program has been opened, who opened it, when, and what?

I had a friend once that was able to tell me I had opened a certain program and it had a list of what files I opened it with and whatnot (i.e. bittorrent). So does anyone know how to do this or how to clean the slate so it doesn't show that I opened anything?

as for monitering to see what has been opened, there are several "spy/keylogger programs" that can show what programs have been opened & what keys have been used etc....etc.....

as for cleaning the slate i am not sure if you can just "clean your pc" prehaps someone else know if/how you could do this

One of the things in XP that shows what files have been looked at or opened, is called Recent Documents. It's in the Documents and Settings folder under your login.

You can keep it clear by right clicking the Taskbar, go to Properties. Click on Start Menu, then Customize. Click the Advanced tab. Bottom section called Recent Documents, uncheck the box.

I don't have any progs installed that keeps track of stuff like that, so I just figured it was a feature I've never looked into on Windows XP. As for the recent document stuff, that's not it (I've had it turned off for a while now). The thing is he could tell what computer the files were accessed from and everything (I have a small network setup). I haven't seen the guy for a while so I can't ask how he did it.
