I have a movie in AVI format whose width to height ratio is 2.35:1 (it's 640 x 272 pixels) when I watch it in Windows Media Player. How can I burn it to a VCD while maintaining the letterbox format? Thus far I've tried Nero, which squeezed it into 4:3 ratio, making everyone tall and skinny. I then tried TMPGenc, which converted it to mpg format....but still not the right ratio. Can someone tell me how to go about this?

You'll find the spect ratio setting for letterbox (16:9) under the advanced tab in tmpgenc.

ive found that method not to work for me..if it doesnt work select other settings, advanced tab, then under the "video arange method" drop down menu select fullscreen(keep aspect ratio) even if you dont choose to change it to (16:9) it will still make it letter box
