HD Handiness and IP Settings

I am trying to link my PC and PS2 together but I'm having problems.
I have downloaded a program called HD handiness that looks good for what I am needing to do. I have connected the PC and PS2 using a crossover cable and booted up HD Advance on Server mode. My PC says the connection is made but when I run HD handiness it scans for PS2 HD but then says - Not Found. I know the IP address of my PS2 is 192.168.1.110 and I can ping it from the computer with success. any help guys please, thanks.
PS. I am using a crossover cable and not going through my router.

Just found out HD Handiness does not work over network.
