Spyware Problem Please Help

Hey guys i have this red box on the bottom right corner of my screen in the tool bar which when clicked on comes up as
"Your computer is infected! Critical system Error! Sysdtem detected virus activities. This may cause critical system Failure. Please, use anti-malware software to clean and protect your system from parastite programs. Click here to get all available software."
I have use spybot, ad-adaware, and avg virus scanning, Hijackthis and reg seeker but they don't find anything. Also my homepage has been changed to "http://www.theguardservices.com/" and if i change it, it always reverts back to it. The website says that i am under the remote control of a computer and says the solutions to these problems are Malware Wipe and PEst Trap.
I looked on the net and have found others with the problem.

i have managed to fix the thing in the corner of my screen however my homepage is still be highjacked by something forcing it to change to "http://www.theguardservices.com/" no matter what i do.

hey i found the name of the spyware that is doing it it is called vcodec. Spybot picks it up and deletes it but it comes back after restarts any suggestions on removal

Actually that's called smitfraud :) Vcodec is "smitfraud dropper".
Download SmitfraudFix (c) S!Ri

Unzip contents of that zip (folder named SmitfraudFix) on your desktop:
Open SmitfraudFix folder and doubleclick smitfraudfix.cmd
Select option #1 - Search by pressing 1 and "Enter"; txt file will open . Send the contents of this txt file to this thread.

i ran Spybot on startup and picked it up and deleted it but i dunno if it worked. i havent been hijacked since though. But i tried that about 4 times before that and it didn't work but for some reason it seems to have worked then

According to that log you're not clean :)
* Reboot your computer in Safe Mode (before the Windows icon appears, tap the F8 key continually)
* Open Smitfraudfix folder and double-click smitfraudfix.cmd
* Select 2 and hit Enter to delete infect files.
* You will be prompted: Do you want to clean the registry ? answer Y (yes) and hit Enter in order to remove the Desktop background and clean registry keys associated with the infection.
* The tool will now check if wininet.dll is infected. You may be prompted to replace the infected file (if found): Replace infected file ? answer Y (yes) and hit Enter to restore a clean file.
* A reboot may be needed to finish the cleaning process. The report can be found at the root of the system drive, usually at C:\rapport.txt
Reboot, send a fresh HjT log and contents of c:\rapport.txt

Is that HjT taken in safe mode? I assume so because of low amount of
processes running.
Open HjT, press do a system scan only, checkmark these and press fix checked:
R3 - Default URLSearchHook is missing

Reboot and send a fresh HjT log taken in normal mode.

In the future, you should also use EWido and NOD32. I have used everything and I have never seen anything as effective as these 2. Hell, NOD updates every 2 seconds which shows how good the security is
