Fixing msvcrt.dll errors with DeCSS

Im posting this to help those who have DeCSS and get an error message: Required DLL is missing. Happens upon first attempting to start the DeCSS program. If you are using Windows 98, the required Msvcrt.dll file is located in Windows\System folder. If the message is occurring even though the file is there, it is because you have updated this file at some point and it intentionally blocks DeCSS from opening. To Fix: Open RUN and type SFC (system file checker) to open this program. Select the option, Extract One File From Installation Disk. Use original 98 CD and specify the file to be extracted as Msvcrt.dll and the destination C:\windows\system. Upon extraction of the DLL file, you will be prompted to restart your computer for changes to take effect. Make a copy of your original Msvcrt.dll file to a floppy or CD-R disk before replacing this file. This is so you can perform the same procedure again to return Windows to an updated state for running programs that require the newer file. DeCSS does not recognize windows newest Msvcrt.dll library files. Running the old msvcrt.dll file will also disable some programs like Norton P.F. 2002, so don't be alarmed. It will work again as soon as the updated Msvcrt.dll is put back in your computer and restarted. Hope this helps!!!
