Last two days ago, I went to buy PSP and I asked the seller that which version of PSP is the new one and he said Version 1.5 is new one. But that day I don't know which is the new version of PSP. So I buy it. Is Version 1.5 new? Is it? Or another version please tell me and how to download the games from the CD to the PSP Version 1.5. Please help me. I'm a bit confused. And if version 1.5 is old can you tell me how to download the new version of PSP because I'm a bit worried that I bought the old version of PSP or not.

because when I bought the PSP I see the PSP version 2.5 is cheaper than the 1.5 version why? I don't understand. Is 2.5 old than 1.5 version or not? And Version 1.5 can play just old games or it can play the new games?
Thank you for answer me

1.5 is older
2.5 is newer
1.5 is more expensive because you can can do more things with it as it hasnt got as much security as the new 2.5's and was hacked easily. It is a bad idea to upgrade to 2.5 as it is not possible to downgrade back to 1.5

You need to get a loader to play your game, what game are you trying to play? And no 1.5 doesnt have internet browser, but you can get one called Fired Up browser which is from the game Fired Up.

Things will get a lot more confusing for you I'm afraid, There's a new psp coming out called the PSP Version 1.5, baiscally, it is designed to kill the 1.5 forever. The new PSP will have one thing different, a psp with the 2nd, yes, 2nd analog stick on the right of the psp. I think I read this off a psp magazine, one of the big time magazines.
Also apparently, the ps1 emulator that SONY is releasing, you can download the games, it should look something like this, I don't know if the picture is fake or not -

PS2 Slimline + Swap Magic + Fan
PS3 60gb Version 1.90
PSP 3.52 M33 EUR Black Version + Logitech Hard Case + Logitech 3 Sound Speakers + 2gb Sony Memory Stick
Nintendo Wii + 3 Wii&Nunchuck Controllers
NDS Original + M3 Simply + 1gb Kingston MicroSD
NDS Lite + M3 Simply + 2gb Sandisk MicroSD

Seriously? 2 analogue stick!?
edit
Na, they cant do that, that would kill all current psps, not just 1.5
Also a riot would break out. Imagine all the PSPs owners when they find their PSP has just been rendered useless. Sony wont do that, yet.

Got it off thre site so they put that on the picture. Also Yes it will probally, the psp 2nd analog has been a issue for a time now. On the magazine I read, they said that sony is planning to let you trade in your psp for the new psp, most games will probally use this feature so it won't be able to function on the psp nowadays so PSP v1.50 will be destroyed !! :/

The new PSP's will be hacked though, but, wait, no they wont, because theyll have the latest firmware, hmmm, that fucks things up.
I suppose we could still keep our 1.5s and play the current games we have, just leaves us without any new games
Or we could get the new PSP and wait til [if] it gets hacked
Grrr, this is annoying

Quote: I read, they said that sony is planning to let you trade in your psp for the new psp,
If this is true they are smart ****.
Trade in your hacked PSP for this new improved (maybe) nonhackable PSP!
Not everyone,s gonna fall for it but, god loves a trier!
They would want to have alot to offer before i,d give up me 2.60

Exactly, not everyone would do it. It all comes down to one thing. Money. If you have enough, keep your 1.5 PSP and buy a brand new 2 analogue PSP. Wait a few years and sell your 1.5 on ebay for $/£2000
Personally, i think i would trade mine in at the last minute, that way you get longer time to do what you want on a 1.5 and then have a shorter time to wait for a possible downgrader
Come to think of it, we wont need a downgrader, coz the games wont work with a double analogue anyway.
Someone will need to create an iso loader. OMG, were gonna be waiting ages :(

Well, we will be on the waiting list along side xbox 360, waiting to be moded, I hope we won't need to install some sort of mod chip into our psp's lol.

popp youll need to downgrade your psp to 1.5 then you can run those backup games. Follow the tute joeva posted and you should be fine, also 1.5 doesnt have the internet browser that you normally have with 2.0, youll need to get a thrid party browser called Fired up browser. You can find the browser in the utilities section of the downloads.
