Hey im a noob to these forums but i like the community and i hope you can help me out with my problem
Here is my ps2 i am running on a version 9 system with the scph number of 50001.

The problem is that sometimes games load sometimes they dont, the games that do load skip and stutter and take a long time to boot and load, cutscenes are the main portion of where the game skips so please help.
I managed to fix this problem a little bit by turning 2 cogs that are north to my laser i am not sure what they do but i have taken 2 pics of them here they are.

and this one

please could someone just tell me exactly where is should turn these cogs to , what their purposes are and just basically how to fix my beloved ps2.
THanks for reading this thread.

well on my V7 it only had one white cog. and it was to adjust
the laser angle (height)
This is used in situations like your when you start having problems reading discs (DRE) or errors.
there is no "right" place to turn it, it's a trail and error method.
You should mark the original position with a pen so you know where it was, then turn it one notch at a time, testing a game after each one. When you find a spot that it starts reading all the discs again, leave it there. you may also want to clean the laser while you have it open which may also help.

if you know any good download sites you may even be able to find a video repair guide that may help.
