I have been using CloneDVD2 for about 6 weeks now. Everything has been going fine. I really like the software. We did an update from Microsoft a few days ago and since then when I open CloneDVD2 I cannot browse to the DVD drive to open the DVD. I did a restore to a few days before the update and everything worked fine again. Unfortunately, I got an automatic update last night from Microsoft and now I am having the same problem again.
Is there anything that anyone can suggest other than restore to point when the software did work and turning off automatic updates.
Thanks for any help you can provide.

jsdb,

After system restore, right click your "my computer" icon,go to properties, go to "automatic updates" and check turn off.

I will definately turn off the automatic updates. This appears to be the source of my problem. I figure that it is a bug in one of the updates. I am unable to browse with some of my other programs as well.
Do you know of any way to fix the problem other than reverting to restore point before the updates?
Thanks for any help.

Sorry, no I don't. Someone else will have to help.

I have the all the critical updates installed and haven't had any problems. I DIDN'T install the optional updates.

btw im using anydvd5.9.5.6 and CloneDVD 2.8.9.2
i ask cause some ppl here have trouble copying movies using AnyDVD with CloneDVD..so others tell them to use the AnyDVD ripper and that the ripper will only make a 1:1 copy im not sure if that's how it goes once again lol well that's all for now thank you :)

Anydvd is a ripper (de-encrypter). CloneDvd2 is a program that will copy and burn to dvd.

As for making a 1 to 1 copy, not a good idea unless the original is small to begin with, or you are backing up to a dl disc. Best to split to 2 dvd5's if you want all.

I too am having the same problem. I cannot browse with any dvd and DVD Shrink Task manager states program not responding. This is after updates from microsoft were downloaded and installed. When I run system restore back to before the updates it works fine. Any help would be appreciated.
