cyberhome dvr 1600 Macrovision PLEASE HELP!!!

I have a Cyberhome DVR 1600 and i want to back up my VHS tapes to DVD. BUT when I try i get a error message that the tape is copy protected....SOOOOOOO I figured out that I need a Digital Video Stabilizer.. I found some on ebay for about 20 bucks...However they claim to not work with cyberhome dvd recorders. Then I found that the Dimax DVD red pro DOES work but it is like 80 dollars is there any way i could get one that will work for cheaper??
