I tried backing up a couples of movies; Mr. and Mrs. Smith and Rent. I used DVD Decrypter and then Shrink and then burnt in Decrypter. Process when off without a hitch but when I put them in my stand alone player, the disc skips and the picture goes to crap as well as the sound. I'm using Maxell DVD+R discs which I thought were supposed to be of decent quality. Any suggestions??

Couple of things come to mind...Too fast a burn speed and perhaps multitasking while burning...Don't know anything about the quality of the disc...

Maxell MIJ are respected around here. I never used them though.

Definitely sounds like burning too fast/multi tasking--just like bilbo said. You have any details about when you burned it?
