Using a 25 pack Verbatim 2.4x +r, cost was about $2 each from BestBuy in US. No coasters, quality is great. Ordered 25 4x +r from Supermediastore.com(Verbatim)in jewel case for $85. Will evaluate with my Sony 500 ax soon.

I also recommend the FugiFilm media. Fry's in the U.S. has it on sale, 25 pack for 40 bucks, which is a pretty good deal. I burnt 50 of them and none of them failed. In addition, my ps2 has no troubles reading them.

I will concur. Verbatim is the best.
I have:
A05 -R
Phillips DVDRW228 +R

I favor the dvd-r cause its cheaper, but when I want a perfect burn in either -R or +R, Verbatim is it, whether its for PS2 or Movie! And they are $2 @Bestbuy, which is really, really cheaper if you look around.

This week only, Bestbuy has 40% off all its fujifilm media (with rebates). So a 50pack will end up costing $60. not bad...
