As a joint effort Hubby and myself are trying to copy or first full movie, instead of copying a copy. We've used Smartripper and DVD2One but we can't burn our result. Our copy of Nero hasn't got DVD on it (and hubby doesn't like Nero so he won't download a newer version!)we have Veritas RecordNow DX but only know how to make copies with it. I've seen Copy 2 DVD recomended but where can I find a copy of it to download? Please help We're doing this for the first time and are stuck.

Thanks
Babs.

I use veritas recordnow max, as well...before you do this...(incase you haven't)as you said you have used smartripper and dvd2one, you should have 2 folders AUDIO_TS and VIDEO_TS. VIDEO_TS should have the compressed dvd movie from dvd2one, leaving AUDIO_TS blank.

When you go to veritas recordnow, hit the file menu, and go to new job, then click on data disc. You want to burn it in that option. You then add your two folders into the list. Then you are ready to burn.

Before you burn though, I sometimes check to see if the movie is working correclty with powerdvd player on the computer, (or any other type of dvd playing software)...you dont want to burn it and figure it doesn't work in the first place.

Good luck

THank you so much for your help. We were missing out the "new job" step with veritas. No wonder we could never get it to work.

After all that we got a movie that played on the computer but not on the DVD player. We didn't have an Audio_TS folder only the Video_TS. WAs this because we were using the try before you buy copy of DVD2One or did we miss something?

WE plan on buying the full version this morning so hopefully that will make a difference, but any suggestions as to where we went wrong will be gratefully accepted. :)

I dont know if that is the problem, but before I use dvd2one, I have 2 folders already made, labeled VIDEO_TS and AUDIO_TS . So when I do use dvd2one, i have it compress nto the VIDEO_TS folder, then I burn the 2 folders as I said before. I am pretty sure you need both folders to play it, and also, on some dvd players it dvdr's dont work...to find out you can go to this website.

Thanks for the help. After a bit of reading around the forum I gathered that we had to create the AUDIO_TS file ourselves. We then encountered another problem but this was down to my stupid otherhalf, who having been told over and over to create a VIDOE_TS file had in fact been naming the file after the film he was ripping, and burning them as that!!!!

After these hiccups we managed to copy three films quite succesfully, so we are really pleased.

Thanks again,
Babs.
