well the PSP i won on ebay that stated it was a 2.0 turned out to be a 2.01

so what should i do? sell it on ebay again, hang out for a downgrader if its ever gunna happen or simply blast off the asshole i bought it of demand he give me a refund or get me a 2.0 PSP.
i have all ready sent him an email telling him how peeved i am at him so hopefully he will reply and i can sort this out with him.
it clearly states on the auction it is a 2.0 so what are my right to complain to ebay can i bust him on being deciteful or what.... please help me coz i really need some advice right now

Dang i feel sorry for you man, i guess you should do all of the above
1. Blast the guy, try to get your money back, if it doesnt work thenGive him a bad feedback
2. Then contact ebay and tell them about the situation.
3. If it still dont work try sell it back.

thanks for the sympathy but reading ebays buyer protect thing it said if there is a sinfificant difference? so i boubt i can say the difference is i cant use it for pirated games and homebrew. then he could proobably say. OH i forget to carry the 1 or some other crap. i have been looking forward to this PSP all week not this is a kick in the nuts. i guess i can try settle it out with the guy if that dont work give him some bad feedback and then re-sell it

Great price for a (standard) PSP BUT if the auction states that the unit is 2.0 (and it clearly does), then that's why you bidded on the auction. I would TELL this astro ass clown that Im sending it back for a full refund (including postage costs), or he will be reported to eBay for misleading information.
You have every right to be pissed. Especially when YOUR money is concerned. Bust his chops.

Dont give him bad feedback, give him unbelievably bad feedback.
As for speaking to ebay, yeah you cant say you want an older version to play pirated games. You could make up some excuse saying you want an older version so you can develop homebrew games for older version (explain you are a programmer and want to work on an older version?)
Maybe it will work?

yea ill probably use the homebrew excuse if he dosnt respond to me.
ill also contact the 2 other guys that also won 2 of his other auctions stating a 2.0 PSP and ill see if they also got a 2.01 if so its just more to bust his ass to ebay.

if you went through paypal you can also try to get a refund through them if they find that he lied. (and it is a sicnificant difference) they'll have you make a police report as well.

ok this is what that astro clown had to say in his defence.
one of the joys of selling on ebay - dealing with people who think it is ok to buy a console for way under RRP and then never pay for any games....pirates. And dont tell me you are downgrading so you can unlock more of the consoles functionality. i hope you realise that you are the reason software prices remain so high, but i guess that it is not up to me to lecture you.
Lets make this as quick and painless as possible.
it was an honest mistake - the wrong info was copied and pasted into the ad for this particular machine. if you want your money back please return console undamaged to me and reply with your account details and i will transfer funds including both lots of freight apon receipt.
if you want an exchange machine also return yours to me and on receipt i will ensure a k model is sent out to you unopened.
so basically he insulted me calling me a pirate. well hes the dirty lieing scumbag not me. now my question is does his deal sound reasonable and what the hell is a K model?

Seems this guy isnt as much of a prick as he was made out to be initially.
He seems honest and that me made a true error. Id now cease hostilities and make a choice. Either get the complete refund back from him or get him to send you out a K model. This doesnt really make much sense to me either. I assume the seller is trying to say that he will send out a 2.0 model for you. This has nothing to do with the K on the box, but with the letter two spaces below it.

So in reality, he should be sending you a unit no later than F. As you can see, in the image NeilR shows, the K does not affect what firmware the PSP is prepacked with. Perhaps show him this link so he gets an understanding for future auctions.
As far as calling you a pirate is concerned.. yeah, thats a bit much. Just know that as far as supporting your PSP goes; Sony will only make money through sales of games and software and never through the units themselves. As far as i've read; PSP units are sold at a loss. So in order to keep the PSP flag flying, make sure you buy games that you genuinely love. Not only does it reward the companies that make them for their work, it is also a show of respect to them. Sony are pricks. Dont get me wrong. Its our future im thinking of here. There would be nothing sadder than seeing the PSP drop out of the market due to lack of software purchase.

well i sent him a message basically saying i wanted it for homebrew and i am a "Coder" and i want to make games fot the PSP that sorta bullcrap. he does sound honnest but im still confused what the hell a K modle is ive seen that chart before and when i heard K im like ???? i thought they were only up to I so i was really confused at that one then i thought maybe the K stands for 1000 so?
but yea i basically said im more than happy to swap it for a PSP as long as its a 2.0 i only want what i paid for and if he cant delliver or i just get a refund im gunna give him negative feed back

Ok im donw with this Astro clown after his rude comments to me and shit im just reselling the PSP i allready got a buyer who im selling it for $330AUD so i actually might make some money off this. im gunna give this guy som bad feed back then its all over.

I don't understand what caused the sudden issue; what did he do that caused him to suddenly not work with you?
I just had two major issues on ebay myself. One person didn't read an auction; and then expected me to pay for having their new cell phone re-programmed. And then this guy with XBox parts made a huge mess all over my account before he got suspended for complaints with several other users.
He left an unpaid item notice that won't go away; because he's not a user anymore; and he left feedback, which I can't counter; because ebay won't allow feedback on a suspended user. It's really frustrating. So after about a month of angry dealings with ebay and paypal; I now have two negative feedback. I hadn't gotten any in over a year. Grrrr.
I'm currently in the process of trying to have ebay at least remove the suspended user's feedback; seeing as they suspended him for unethical conduct.

It doesn't matter what you want it for. You could want it to use as a Coaster. The point is he advertised it as a 2.1 and it is a 2.0. In the psp world that is a major difference. That should be the end of the discussion. I really hate jerks like that.

other way around joeva but you get the point, but yea it is a big difference but looks like im just gunna have to keep looking at ebay for a 2.00 nome of this 2.0 but is realy 2.01.. this clown hasnt replied for a good few days so i guess hes done with.
man i really want a 2.00, but yea i really like the PSP though its one sexy console i tried out the web browser and it was ok rest of its great though.

You don't even need to state a reason, it was false advertisement whether the seller of the item did it intentionally, or not. If he sold you something that wasn't made by the official details he posted and he doesn't give you a refund or the item that was to be sold I'm pretty sure you can take legal actions against him (yes, even if it's something small like that it's still false advertisement). And once again I don't believe you even need to state a reason, because this was something at his fault and who cares why you want the other thing (unless EBay and/or the buyer does care, in that case my poser lawyer skills slap me in the face :p)

you know i bought a 2.6 off ebay (before I didn't know you couldnt' run homebrew on it :s) Then i went into the gamestop a couple days later to get a pc cable for it and happened to ask them if they had any psps for sale used. They said yes and then i was like well could you tell me the firmware version? The batteries were dead but luckily i had mine with me one was like 2.1 the other 1.52 I was like YES :) so I bought for 200usd. So try gamestop,ebgames, exc. You might get lucky :D (p.s. he was like well this one has scratches and stuff not sure if you want it LOL(I think he wanted it :p))

hahaha mate u wont beleive me but i just went to my local EB games store and asked about Pre-owned PSPs and one was a 2.01 and the other a 1.52, i traded in my 2.01 for the 1.52 upgraded then downgraded and now i have a V1.50 PSP. so now im enjoying all the homwbrew and games on it GTA:LCS is a mad game im loving itim gunna go buy the game soon just to show them my support.

well the way i look at ISO downloading i use the ISO to sample the game and if i like it ill get it, so far im getting GTA and Ridge racer coz those games are pretty cool
