rip the movie to your hard drive with this software first and then open the files with shrink. it will work.

Nero Recode2 or Shrink using deep analysis and AEC/ fabdecrypter or anydvd running in the background/ IMGBurn to burn/main movie only mode= perfect.

@dannyo

If you want to go with the FREE method/route, then I highly recommend you follow and get the following FREE tools. I've been using DVDFAB Decrypter and VobBlanker for the past 6 months and it (both) has never let me down, so far it's flawless. The only difference from this basic guide is that I used DVD-RB Pro + CCE to "encode" or sometimes "transcode" with Nero Recode 2 (AA + HQSR) and burn with Nero Burning Rom.

<< Alkohol's FREE Method to successfully rip and backup any movies/dvds >>

(1) DVDFAB Decrypter - rip the movie into your hard drive first
(2) VobBlanker - process the VIDEO_TS.IFO file for security purpose (it will fix any invalid structural or fake dummy cells)
(3) DVD Shrink - transcode as usual
(4) DVD Decrypter or ImgBurn - to burn (ISO Image only)

NOTE: when you get to step #2 or VobBlanker, do as the following steps:

(A) INPUT = browse/locate your already ripped VIDEO_TS.IFO file from hard drive

(B) OUTPUT = create another VIDEO_TS folder in your hard drive (Example: if HOSTEL is the movie you're trying to rip and process, then make a new folder name VOB_HOSTEL and a sub-folder name VIDEO_TS inside VOB_HOSTEL, so it should be: VOB_HOSTEL\VIDEO_TS for the OUTPUT.)

(C) click "PROC.ALL" at the RIGHT
(D) click "PROCESS" at the bottom

Now sit tight, relax, wait until VobBlanker is successfully completed -- VobBlanker should take only 5 minutes to process any left over junks, fake pgc and invalid structural, etc. Once VobBlanker is done, it should created a newly/fresh file or folder into VOB_HOSTEL\VIDEO_TS. Just load/import this VIDEO_TS file into DVD Shrink and continue on with your usual transcoding process.

That's it.... it's all FREE and easy as sippin' on a Corona. Best of lucks to you and happy burning. Now-a-days, I highly recommend you rip, process and backup with this "simple/basic guide" and I GUARANTEE YOU 100% that you'll be able to successfully rip and backup any movies/dvds, regardless if it's encrypted with ARccOS or RipGuard.

NOTE: I recommend you TURN OFF DVD43, AnyDVD or other cracking engines that's running in the background, if you're "ripping" any movie(s) with DVDFAB Decrypter (the latest) -- the same thing apply to VobBlanker, when you're "processing" the "VIDEO_TS.IFO" file through VobBlanker. This way, it won't trigger or cause any errors in results.

WARNING: Do not "update/upgrade" your SAMSUNG BD-D5XXX series (Bluray Player), or else you cant enjoy any of your movie files.

hello alkohol,

nice to hear from you again, i was out of the country so i haven't read the forums questions and answer...

i would just like to say a piece of my mind. before i took alkohols advice or formula to burn dvd i was having trouble with my burned dvd's. i am sending my burnt dvd across the world(ASIA), and i got e-mails from my relatives about how my dvd's problem(stopping/stalling/skipping chapters and so on and so forth...)but since i applied alkohols formula, everything is as sweet as apple pie.

to all newbies and to those who are looking for a 100% back-up WITH NOTHING TO BUY...
1. DVDfab Decryter
2. Vobblanker
3. DVD Shrink
4. DVD Decrypter
THESE ARE ALL FREEBIES...

cheers......
