Hi, I got Samurai Warriors to work with PRX from Legend of Heroes A tear of vermillion.

I used MPH Gameloader with 2.0 flash files and UMD Emulator 0.8c, with 1.50 firmware.

Now heres the problem: my PSP suddenly blacked out while playing Samurai Wariors for roughly 2-3hours in about 2 days. The power was still on (i think) so I restarted my PSP using the normal method (not by removing battery). When i started the PSP, the logo showed and then suddenly the screen just blacked out.

Is my PSP bricked?

When I switch on my PSP now, it loads my UMD (which is ridge racer) and i try to press Home to exit the game. But sometimes it doesn't work or it asks if you want to return to the menu then suddenly black out. And when ridge racer is loaded, there's this mini game, I've tried pressing select and it does not even work...

However, when i switch my psp on without the umd inside, it loads ok, but it seems something is wrong as when i tried to change the nickname of my psp, I'm unable to do so as it exits automatically. However, I'm still able to play mp3 files.

if your psp is turning on and you can actually see things then its not bricked. You may have messed up the firmware, if it bugs you alot just upgrade to 2.0 then downgrade again.
Before you do this though, id hit retore default settings and see if it helps.

Actually I've tried restoring to default and it doesn't work... I was guessing its the firmware problem too, but i'm not sure if its safe to update or able to update (have not yet tried to do so) since i used SXT's firmware patcher to make it 7.50. I'm unable to change it back to 1.50 because when I run the SXT program, the program automatically chooses the 7.50, probably Start button going bonkas too...

Anyway, thanks! I'll try upgrading then downgrading again.

theres no such thing as a 7.50 firmware. You're probably still using 1.5. Check the version in the settings menu. Then go to the FAQ on the main page of these forums and you'll find the tutorial for upgrading to 2.0 and then downgrading back to 1.5

I've alrdy tried upgrading then downgrading... Is it possible that my Home/Select/Start bar is faulty?

Anyway its quite seriously... I can't play any game... So now my psp has became a gigantic mp3 player?

PieceFull: yea... i did that... cos it didn't allow me to upgrade at 7.50 so i used a lower version of sxt (somehow my start button is stuck???) it auto selects the 7.50 for the latest version of sxt which is 2.02 i think...

that's also probably y i suspect that my start/select bar is faulty...

ewanewanj: ?? what do you mean?

and yea i noe if i send to sony they'll upgrade for me, that's why i might go to other game shops to see if they are able to repair it...

have you tried opening it up? You can then turn it on and just press the switches beneath the buttons to test. Maybe a bit has moved inside or if anythings broke u can buy a replacement part online.
